Lea captained Cray Wanderers to both the Isthmian League Division One North and South play-offs during a three year spell at Hayes Lane before opting to join Ashford United last summer. He made 19 appearances for the Nuts & Bolts but then made the switch to SCEFL side Cray Valley Paper Mills, ending last season with an appearance at Wembley as an unused substitute in the final of the FA Vase.
