Back at Horsham for a second spell, having made eight appearances at the start of the 2017/18 campaign, Josh was on the books of Brighton & Hove Albion as a youngster before dropping into non-league football with Ringmer and went on to play for Worthing and Peacehaven & Telscombe before making his mark at Burgess Hill Town, with whom he was voted the Isthmian League goalkeeper of the season in the club’s title-winning season of 2014/15. Injury saw him lose his place in the team in the early part of 2017 so he made the switch to Haywards Heath Town and helped them finish top of the Southern Combination Football League, only to have his winners’ medal title taken away when the club was demoted to second place for fielding an ineligible player. Josh moved on to Horsham the following season and made his debut in a 5-0 loss at Thamesmead Town before deciding to take a break from the game two months later, resurfacing at Burgess Hill later that same season where a string of fine performances helped stave off the threat of relegation. Remained at Leylands Park until rejoining the Hornets this summer.
