Ricky Aguiar signs!

We are delighted to announce that midfielder Ricky Aguiar has joined the club on loan from York City until January. Ricky brings a dynamic presence and his energy and creativity will make a strong addition to the team.

Ricky began his senior career at Worthing FC, where he made over 90 appearances and scored 15 goals. He then made the move to Football League side Swindon Town before transferring to York in July 2024.

At the same time, winger Ola Ogunwamide has signed for Cray Valley on a 28-day loan in order to get some playing time following injury.

Commenting on both moves, manager Dom Di Paola had this to say:

I’m really pleased and really grateful to York for helping us out. We felt that we were a bit light in that area, with Monts [Montel Agyemang] being out as long as he has been and there is a fair few weeks to go with him. We’re rinsing Barks [Danny Barker], Cooky [Charlie Hester-Cook] and Hammo [James Hammond] and it’s been a challenge to freshen it up or give them some support.

Bringing Ricky in will be a good addition. He’s an excellent player, is very good friends with some of our boys, having played with some of them at Worthing, and he knows Leone [Gravata] as well obviously, so he should fit in really well. Hopefully he can come in and help us and give us an option in a midfield where we haven’t had any options since the Whitehawk game when Monts got injured.

Ola is going to go out and get some game time at Cray Valley on loan for 28 days. He just needs to play to do himself justice in this league, because he’s a little bit behind the curve after getting injured in the third game. I felt he needed to get some confidence and game time, so we’re having a bit of a reshuffle of players to try and give ourselves a bit of balance and also to help us out with a bit of a predicament with our centre midfield.
