We can confirm three departures from Dom Di Paola’s squad as Jack Mazzone, Tom Richards and Elliott Romain have all left the club for pastures new.

Jack leaves as the top goalscorer from the current squad with 37 goals in 89 appearances, across a two-year spell. The club’s top scorer in the 2022/23 season, Mazz capped his goalscoring feats for the club by striking first in our final league game of this season against Concord Rangers. He then made his final bow at the Amex Stadium as a second half substitute in the Sussex Transport Senior Cup final.

Tom leaves as one of our more experienced players, having recorded 133 appearances since joining from Kingstonian in 2021. One of eight current squad members to have featured in both Emirates FA Cup First Round matches against Carlisle United and Barnsley.

And it was that night at Oakwell in which he will be remembered most famously as his 81st-minute equaliser secured a memorable replay against the Yorkshire side, and everything else that came after. A fitting way to score his tenth and final goal for the club.

Meanwhile, Elliott Romain also departs with 15 appearances and two goals to his name. Despite joining from Dulwich Hamlet back in November to bolster our attacking options, his lack of regular game time saw him loaned out to Dartford to gain match fitness, however he also failed to nail down a starting berth on his return.

On each player’s departure, Dom said, “Tom has been a massive part of what we’ve done over the last three years and is a fantastic person. He played a huge part in establishing us back in step 3 and will always be welcome back to the club.

“Mazz was a great player for the club. His goal record was outstanding in his first year and he has had a massive contribution to our success this year and on numerous occasions. I wish him all the best for the future.

“Elliott scored some key goals for us this year. A shame that he didn’t come in pre-season and got himself up to speed, as we had wanted him to, but no doubt he’ll have great success at his next club and we wish him all the best.”

All three leave with our fondest memories and best wishes for the future, and we thank them for all their efforts during their time with the club.

More squad announcements, including retained players, new signings, and any further departures, will be made soon, as Dom continues to build his side for the upcoming season.
