We are delighted to announce the signing of former Staines Town winger, Luke Robinson, who has put pen to paper this week after impressing during pre-season.
Luke developed his early game in college programmes with both Southampton and Brighton & Hove Albion before joining Peacehaven & Telscombe and then Bognor Regis Town, via a brief stint at Lewes. He made the switch to Haywards Heath in 2018 but appearances during his two year stay at Hanbury Park were limited after picking up an ACL injury during his first season.
Having battled his way back to full fitness, Luke was invited to sign for Isthmian League South Central side Staines Town and ended a Covid-hit campaign by being voted the Supporters’ Player of the Season, having played his part in taking the Swans to the top of the table before things were brought to an untimely conclusion.
This summer the 22 year old Bermudan earned a dream call-up with his home nation, playing in the Gombey Warriors’ World Cup qualifying ties against Suriname and Cayman Islands.
Luke describes himself as a player who “likes to get on the ball, be direct and create chances” and no-one who has seen his performances in a Horsham shirt so far this summer is likely to disagree with that assessment.
Welcome, Luke.
Luke is likely to get his latest Hornets run-out this Saturday when Dom Di Paola’s side host Metropolitan Police in a friendly. Kick-off at The Camping World Community Stadium is 3pm, with tickets costing just £5 adults, Over 60s/Students/U18s £3, and FREE entry to U16s.
Cash admission is permitted on the day of the match but anyone wishing to purchase their ticket in advance should click here.
