Following the Prime Minister’s announcement of the roadmap for the easing of lockdown restrictions, it came as no surprise that a recommendation has been made to the FA Council that the League season at Steps 3-6 should be curtailed with no more matches played this term.

Whilst we at Horsham Football Club were keen to ensure that no premature decision should be made and that competitive football could resume if at all possible, it has become clear that a majority of clubs were of the opinion that the season should be declared null and void. In addition the announcement that spectators would not be allowed into stadia until June at the earliest would mean that a resumption would be practically and financially impossible.

Dom and the board will now focus on building for an exciting, and hopefully uninterrupted, campaign kicking off on 14 August. I am sure this will be a subject covered in the Q&A session following the club’s AGMs on Friday 5 March.

We would like to thank all our supporters for giving us your support during the games we were able to play.

Reaching the 600 capacity limit on two separate occasions, helping us record one of the highest average attendances for step three clubs in the country, is testament to your amazing support and commitment to the club, and we hope to see all of you packing out The Camping World Community Stadium when we return next season.

– The Directors of Horsham Football Club

In other news, our club AGM will take place next Friday (March 5) online, on Google Meet. Joining instructions have already been circulated to shareholders and members but, in addition, we will be able to accommodate a limited number of other supporters and social members (ie those holding green members cards).

A Q&A session, in which supporters can ask questions to the directors, will take place immediately after the formal proceedings have finished.

Anybody interested in joining the online call should submit a request to admin@horshamfc.co.uk by Monday 1 March.

Relevant papers for the meetings have also been posted or emailed to shareholders and full members. If any of these have not received this by Monday 1 March, please contact samuel.borrett@gmail.com (Company AGM) or jeff.barrett@btinternet.com (Club AGM).
