The Hornets have been landed a testing tie in the 2nd qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup, having been drawn away to National League South side Havant & Waterlooville.

The Hawks, formed as recently as 1998 through a merger of Havant Town and Waterlooville, gained nationwide acclaim when twice leading at Anfield against Liverpool in the 2007/8 FA Cup but have yet to kick a ball in anger this season due to the delay in getting their league programme underway following governmental refusal to allow fans to attend matches while the threat of Covid-19 remains.

The match is due to take place next Saturday, October 3rd, with further details to follow.

Our Isthmian League match at Carshalton Athletic, due to have taken place next weekend, will now be played at a later date.

  1. Bob Papworth says:

Could Havant and Waterlooville ask to switch the game to Horsham and if so would spectators then be allowed in as the match is at a β€œnon elite” football club?

    • Mark Wells says:

Hi Bob. A number of options are being discussed between the two clubs that we hope will bring a resolution early next week.
