While Horsham’s new signings appear to be settling in nicely to life in the amber and Lincoln green, it has been a summer of frustration for Callum Saunders who looks unlikely to make a single appearance for the club following his arrival from Haywards Heath back in April.
It was hoped that the creative midfielder, who scored 82 goals in a 151 appearances for the Heathens, would add firepower to the Hornets’ forward line this season but back problems over the summer resulting from a slipped disc saw the 32 year undergo surgery last week, effectively ruling him out of a return to the game for the foreseeable future.
“I loved everything about the club in the very short time I was there” Callum admitted to a club official, “from the facilities to the people, the management team and of course the players. I was made to feel very welcome (but) unfortunately life doesn’t always go to plan. It’s now time for me to get it right and concentrate on getting back to full health.”
Our best wishes go to Callum for a full and speedy recovery.
