The first of our youth sides get their league seasons underway tomorrow on what promises to be a busy day at The Camping World Community Stadium.
Our two representatives in the Mid-Sussex League, the U15s and Tony Massimo’s U16s, are each playing up an age level this season which it is hoped will be good for the squad’s development. After having so many opposing teams pull out of fixtures last season, the U15s management team of Alex Bethell and Lee Maguire believe the boys will benefit from playing in a higher and more competitive age group.
Tomorrow we get the opportunity to see just how competitive the division will be when the U15s host Newhaven in a 10 o’clock kick-off. Then, at midday, the U16s kick-off their campaign with a match against Langton Green where they will be looking to continue last season’s fine form in what promises to be a very challenging season. Both sides have added new players to their squads and we welcome them to Horsham FC.
With the Arun & Chichester League not kicking off until next weekend, Ian Scott’s U16s will be hoping to continue their preparations with a 2pm friendly versus Southwater while on the Jack Scrase pitch our U11s and U12s take on their counterparts from Dorking for what are their final warm-up games.
