Horsham FC’s Youth section received the news they had all been dreading, with the decision by the Arun & Chichester League to call an end to their 2019/20 programme with the whole country in limbo while Covid-19 takes hold.

The decision was taken during yesterday’s league meeting but, rather than call the entire season ‘null and void’, they agreed to decide league placings from years U12s upwards on an average points per match basis. What does this mean for the Hornets? Well, read on….

  • U11 – League placings not determined for this age group
  • U12 – 7th/12 (Division A)
  • U13 – 4th/8 (Division A)
  • U15 Green – 1st/11 (Division B)

Cup competitions are still planned to go ahead, with the league hoping to get the approval of the governing bodies to allow the respective finals to be played before May 31st. The Hornets have two teams through to cup finals, ironically both against Felpham Colts, with the U11s now through in the Ernie Piper President’s Cup and our U12s due to contest the League Cup final.

No statement has yet been received from the Mid-Sussex Youth League, in which the Club’s U14s, U15 Amber and U16 participate.
