Horsham U15 Amber 6 Uckfield Grasshoppers 0
Mid-Sussex League Division One

Horsham continued their fine run of form with a routine victory over lowly Uckfield at the Camping World Community Stadium. It was an impressive team performance, with Amber playing a fluid passing game from the first whistle to the last.

Strikers Conner Collcutt and Henry Hazell probed in the early exchanges and, after going close with several half chances, Collcutt fired into the top corner from 20 yards to give Amber the lead. The much-improved visitors battled gamely but found Amber’s back line in uncharitable mood, with all four of Horsham’s defenders dominating their opponent. Max Morris excelled in centre midfield, whilst Max Warren was a constant threat on the wing. However, Amber’s second goal owed much to fortune, with Alfie Clifford’s deep cross dropping into the net.

Having shown great desire in the first half, Uckfield were broken by two quick-fire goals soon after the break. Clifford lashed home his second before Nico Massimo met Zain Beg’s driven cross. Beg then nodded home a pinpoint cross from Charlie Gibson, who then scored himself to complete the rout. Horsham might have added more to the tally but it was still a day of positives, with substitutes including Beg and Leighton Read also performing very well.

Horsham: Will Scurr, Isaac Small, Alfie Furneaux, Josh Mamo, Phelan Jeffery, Charlie Gibson, Alfie Clifford, Max Morris, Max Warren, Conner Collcuttt, Henry Hazell
