Horsham enjoyed a comfortable afternoon against Merstham in the October sunshine as The Hornets swept aside the Surrey side by four goals to nil.
Charlie Harris got The Hornets off the mark when he hammered home in the 24th minute, and the lead was doubled by Rob O’Toole when he tapped into an empty net with 31 minutes on the clock.
The Moatsiders might well have enjoyed a different outcome had they not missed a penalty that Ellis Brown fired onto and over the bar early in the second half, while Brendan Ocran missed a sitter moments later for the visitors.
Horsham then turned the screw when Chris Smith fired in on 65 minutes as he made the points safe, before Lea Dawson wrapped things up 13 minutes from time as he scored his first goal of the season drilling in from 20 yards out.
