Horsham secured their first league win of the campaign thanks to some clinical finishing as they defeated Enfield Town 1-4 to show the Isthmian Premier Division they’re back, and they mean business.
Chris Smith opened the scoring on the stroke of half time when his shot was parried up and back into the net by goalkeeper Nathan McDonald, but Enfield Town came back at Horsham early on during the second half when Ken Charles nodded in from Jon Muleba’s deep cross.
Horsham then took the lead once more thanks to a fine goal by Charlie Harris, and then Smith added his second of the afternoon when he pounced upon Kieran Lavery’s freekick after McDonald could only parry back out into his path.
Zack Newton wrapped things up late on when he scored his first goal in Horsham colours with a low drive following a darting run into Enfield’s half.
