We are delighted to announce that the club will be hosting a performance of Patrick Marber’s highly-acclaimed play ‘The Red Lion’, on Friday 23rd August, as part of Horsham District’s Year of Culture.
Based in the world of non-league football, the play tells the story of a young player, touched with brilliance, who arrives from nowhere and an ambitious manager who determines to make him his own. Described as a “haunting and humorous new play about the dying romance of the great English game – and the tender, savage love that powers it”, The Red Lion was first presented at the National Theatre, London, on 3rd June 2015 and was subsequently revived at The Trafalgar Studios in 2017.
The Red Lion is a hugely entertaining play with great humour and has wide appeal to local footballers, teams and supporters alike, garnering many 5* reviews already.
The performance begins at 7.30pm in the clubhouse and tickets are priced at just £10 (£5 concessions). For more details, and to book your ticket, click here*
*note that tickets can also be purchased in advance from the clubhouse.
