Neither Horsham or Leatherhead could be separated as Horsham earned their first point of the campaign with a 1-1 draw as Horsham’s long awaited return to the town ended in a draw.

With over 700 spectators turning out to witness the historic occasion, things got off to a bad start for Dom Di Poala’s side when on just eight minutes, Leatherhead scored a dubious penalty with Eddie Dsane converting the spot kick after it appeared Joe Shelley won the ball from him.

Horsham hit back six minutes before the break when Rob O’Toole fired in at the near post following some good work from Kieran Lavery, but neither side was able to clinch it during the second half with Jerry Nnamani going inches close twice within three minutes, while O’Toole crashed an effort in injury time against the bar as both sides settled for a point.

Returning for dutiful service, Matt Dale reports, while John Lines’ excellent array of photographs can be found at our Flickr page.
