Horsham competed well in last night’s Bluefin Development League South opener at Dripping Pan against a Lewes side that fielded several first teamers, including former Hornet Billy Medlock. A fine header by Jamie Craddock saw the visitors take an early lead before Sam Karl equalised for the Rooks. Injuries to key players necessitated two first-half substitutions and Karl scored again before the break, with a late Medlock double resulting in a 4-1 scoreline which was rather harsh on Horsham’s Development League debutants. First teamer and Jack Hartley played the full match Adam Hunt an hour in their quest for match fitness following long-term injuries.

Lewes – Sam Karl (8,43), Billy Medlock (85,86)
Horsham – Jamie Craddock (3)
Att: 70
