Wow, what a weekend of football for the youth sides! After no football for a while, all five squads were in action and there were no disappointed faces this week. The lads were on fire but we have to start with Horsham Under 12s who were playing in the Arun & Chichester League Cup Final. After a fiercely contested match against Bognor Regis Town they pushed it all the way, winning 4-3 on penalties after the match had ended all square at 2-2. It was a fantastic result for the management team of Paul, Alex and Ross and the lads who gave everything. After Horsham Amber had won the trophy last year, this season’s U12s were extremely proud to retain the cup. A full report on this match will follow.
U13 Green stay in touch of gaining promotion as they came back from conceding an early goal to beat Bracklesham 4-2, with Sammy McMinn scoring all four of the Hornets’ goals.Horsham Amber also kept the pressure on as they came out 4-2 winners against a strong Chichester Youth side, with goals from Zain Beg (2), Sammy Henderson and an own goal.
Horsham U11s travelled down to Worthing Town Blue and returned victorious, with two goals from Harry Lawson and one each from Harry Lawson and Theo Imperiale, while our U16s were down at Bognor Regis and they seem to be this season’s draw specialists as Jake Relleen’s goal earned them a 1-1 draw.
