Snow dashed all hopes for the Horsham Youth squads bar one on Sunday. With the rain lashing down during the week, Horsham and Chichester City Youth joined forces and booked the 3G pitch at Arun Leisure Centre little expecting so much snow to arrive. Luckily for the squads, it was a late kick-off so we had a chance which paid off and the Centre gave the game the go ahead.
So on the road for a double header of two games, each consisting of two twenty minute halves. As the wind and whistled around the artificial pitch, the chill factor was really cold for the supporters watching on from the sidelines. I’m sure the conditions had an effect on both sides and with it being a double header the stop start didn’t help proceedings. The first match was goalless and as they went into the second match, a change of team still didn’t produce any goals so resulting in two stalemates. It was good to get the game on but the conditions were brutal for all.
All other Horsham matches were off.
Horsham U12s look forward to the League Cup next week at Arundel FC, hoping the weather picks up so the match can be played.
