What a Sunday morning it was as Horsham Youth booked another cup final appearance. After the doom and disappointment of so many postponements due to the rainy season, we couldn’t have asked anymore as the squads bounced back to make it a day of celebration for all our playing sides.
Horsham U12s have been waiting waiting and waiting to get their Arun & Chichester League Challenge Cup semi final played but the wait was worth it as the young Hornets beat Rustington Otters 3-2 in a tight encounter to take on Lancing Utd Colts or Bognor Regis Town in the final at Arundel FC on Sunday 25th March. Horsham’s scorers: Nathan Jones, Raul Barter, Frankie Mills
U13 Green were on the road as they went to Ferring Youth and the Hornets’ pressure from the first whistle saw them on top for long periods of time to enjoy a comfortable 5-2 win on a sticky pitch. The table is very tight from the top to the bottom but the boys are still in with a shout for the title, although there is a long way to go. Horsham’s scorers: Sam McMinn (2), Dan Woodward, Reggie Ramanakumar, Adam Fitter
The U16s were also on their travels and, in a tactical battle with Rustington Otters, it was game of cat and mouse in which both had their chances but the score remained 0-0 at the end of ninety minutes, which was probably a fair result.
The U11s weren’t in action this weekend, while the U13s Amber were awarded the points after opponents Felpham Colts were unable to raise a side.
