Horsham Youth’s sides managed to get some football in as, thankfully, the weather didn’t interrupt proceedings this weekend. The U12s were the first match to get the go ahead and, having not played for a while, it didn’t take them long to get rid of the winter blues after the Christmas break, winning handsomely 7-0 at home against Chichester City Youth (Green) which will be a big boost as they go into semi-final action next week. The Hornets’ goalscorers were Stan Berry (two), Nathan Jones, Cameron Cox, Danny White, Raul Barton and an own goal.
The U13 Greens were on the road and, after an early start and with a bracing wind at Bracklesham Youth’s East Wittering base, the lads put in a really good performance to win 2-1 thanks to a brace from Tate Stowell.
The Sussex County Cup/Les Kempster Challenge Trophy 4th presented a tough tie for U13 Amber against Premier United but they came out all guns blazing and put the match to bed early with a hat-trick from Joe Simpkin and Max Warren putting the icing on the cake to run out 4-0 winners and into the quarter-finals.
The U11s suffered a first round exit in the Arun & Chichester League Ernie Pipers President’s Cup, going down at Chichester City Colts Red despite a pair of goals from Bailey Moyo.
