Arun & Chichester League Division A
A late flurry of goals added gloss to what was for long spells a tough encounter for Horsham Amber. The visitors struggled to find fluidity in the early exchanges, although carved out several opportunities that were not put away. Horsham then fell behind to a well-taken penalty, awarded when Tom Matthews handled when trying to deal with an awkward cross. Sam Henderson dominated the midfield and it was his goals that ensured Horsham led at the break. First, he swept home a Zain Beg pass before clinically adding a second from the edge of the box. The result may well have been different had second half ‘keeper George Edgeley not produced a brilliant stop to deny Felpham an equaliser. Instead, two quick-fire goals put Horsham out of sight. First, Nico Massimo tapped home after great wing play by Max Warren, before Sam Henderson completed a deserved hat-trick. In the latter stages, the floodgates opened. Joe Stevens struck twice – including a terrific effort that flew in off the post – and Zain Beg claimed a headed goal after a superb run and cross from Warren. Second half centre forward Massimo also claimed a stylish brace and was only denied a hat-trick by the linesman’s flag.

Speaking with manager Tony and coach Steve after the game, they were both proud of the lads as the season has already been up and down but the squad is settling down and the new squad members are starting to settle and developing.
