A flurry of second half goals gave the score-line a one-sided view but Horsham endured a testing match against Worthing United. Horsham were once again slow out of the blocks, conceding in the first minute. The first half then became a battle of attrition with Horsham’s midfield creating a string of good opportunities, but the ball didn’t fall kindly for the strikers. With half time looming, Nico Massimo scored the equaliser, flicking in an overhead shot following a corner.

Horsham continued to dominate possession after the break, with good passing play resulting in more clear-cut chances. Max Warren slotted in to give Horsham the lead before defender Lewes Bridle connected beautifully with a clearance to score an incredible long range goal. Max Warren and the rampaging Sam Henderson slotted home with low strikes to make it 5-1. There was little second half ‘keeper George Edgley could do about Worthing’s second, but any faint hopes of a comeback were ended with two late goals. First, Leighton Read played an incisive one-two that led to Henderson’s second, then Massimo bagged his brace with a commanding header.
