It was a mix of league and cup action for our five youth sides this weekend, with three sides progressing in the knockout competitions and two involved in closely-fought Arun & Chichester League matches.
The U11s kicked off their Coral League Autumn Cup programme with a trip to Chichester City Colts Red, where they came away the victors by four goals to three. Hughes, Harry Lawson (2) and George Lee scored the Hornets’ goals. A goal in added time sent our U12s to a 3-2 defeat at home to Bognor Regis Town Youth Green after Frankie Mills and Raul Barter’s goals had looked like earning Paul Brown’s side a share of the points.
Horsham U13 Green moved into the second round of the League Challenge Cup with a narrow victory time away to Worthing Colts, helped by a goal by Dan Woodward, while U13 Amber went goal-mad in their tie at Barnham Trojans Reds, recording a convincing 11-1 win. New signing Zain Beg scored four goals on his debut and there was a hat-trick for Joe Simpkin alongside further goals from Max Warren, Sam Henderson, Zach Barnett and an own goal. Elsewhere, Kieran Bonner’s goal ensured honours would finish even between the U16s of Horsham and Bognor Regis Town Youth at Southwater Leisure Centre.
We hope to bring you reports on all these matches as soon as possible.
