Teenage striker Jake Chadwick faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after breaking his collar bone during Sunday’s youth match against Worthing. Chadwick, who has been a regular in the first team squad this season and was a second half substitute in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Arundel, fell awkwardly after a challenge in the U18s’ County Cup tie and was taken to hospital where the break was diagnosed. Youth Secretary Annie Raby said “this is a massive blow, not just for Jake but for the club as a whole as he is a major player and very popular member of both the U18s and senior squad and he will be missed by all the lads. We wish Jake a speedy recovery.”
